Heydar Aliyev International Airport is one of the seven international airports serving Azerbaijan.
Formerly, it was called Bina International Airport after a suburb of Baku.
On 10 March 2004, the airport was renamed after Heydar Aliyev.
The airport is 20 kilometers northeast of Azerbaijan capital Baku, connected to the city by a highway.
The airport serves as the hub for national carriers Azerbaijan Airlines and Buta Airways.
